Yes. Through all message sending methods you can select a specific date and time for scheduled sent messages.

In all sending forms Send basic y Send to groups there is a specific gap to select a date and time in 10 minutes intervals. However through Send from file it is possible to select a date and time for each one of the messages included in the file. It is also possible to schedule the message sending through API filling in the schedule gap.

All scheduled message sending not sent yet will be found in the Pending area available in the Schedule section. All message sending will be available to check, send in the moment or cancel. Already sent scheduled messages can be checked through the Sent Scheduled section Sent where mistakes or errors can be checked.

  • What kind of files can I add or attach to my SMS?

A standard SMS can only contain text characters from the GSM alphabet. However, a common practice consists in adding links to the message taking advantage of the fact that the majority of mobile users have access to internet on their devices. This link can lead to a website, an image, a video, a PDF, a document or any resource that can be viewed from the mobile.

We highly recommend to minimize the weight or memory they occupy as much as possible. And also the usage of streaming platforms for videos (Youtube, Vimeo, etc.) or documents (issuu, Google Drive, etc.).

  • What kind of senders can be used and what usage limits do senders have?

The origin of a message is the sender field. When messages are sent from LabsMobile platform a different sender can be chosen for each sending whether you send it from the application WebSMS or from API.

The maximum length of the sender is 11 characters and only standard letters and numbers ([a-zA-z0-9]) are permitted. If the sender is only numeric then the maximum length permitted is 16 digits.

However, customization or change of the sender is only available for some countries due to restrictions and usage limits of the telephone operators. In countries where this benefits are restricted messages will be received through a fixed or a random number that can be a Shortcode number or in international format. Countries with these restrictions can be checked on the Services and credits by country section and also on the sending forms alert.

WebSMS Application includes the following message sending methods:

    • - Send basic. Manual message sending method which consists of entering recipient numbers one by one or copying them from an application or file in a text field. This method is used for ad hoc message sending or to few recipient.
    • - Send to groups. In this message sending form contact groups must be previously selected and added or imported to the application. This aimed is mostly aimed for usual message sending or to bigger contact volume.
    • - Send from file. This message sending method consists in creating an Excel in which each row correspond to a SMS and where all the necessary details are specified (sender, text, recipient, date/time of sending, etc.). This method is designed for message sending with multiple texts or messages with different date/time of delivery. There is an example template with all the instructions and we recommend its use. Through any of these sending methods standard SMS or Unicode SMS can be sent depending on the account configuration and the characters included in the message.

  • How can messages be customized with variables?

To be able to send messages with customized text it is necessary to have the contacts or numbers preloaded in the application with all the necessary fields filled out.

In the Send to groups section it is possible to include variables in the text message such as the name (%NAME%), group (%GROUP%), phone number (%MSISDN%) or any other contact data (%FIELD1%,%FIELD2%,...).
